Stone Koru

This sculpture at the entrance to the Tuahiwi Sport and Recreation Centre commemorates the opening of the facility on 17 May 2009. It was commissioned by Phil Harris who was the chair of the Tuahiwi Sports Trust and Peter Bacher who carved the work donated it to the trust and the people of Tuahiwi. It was officially blessed at the opening of the sports field and courts once the Waimakariri District Council had finished doing them up.
