Patchina

As part of the ‘Wild in Art’ project 50 fibre glass giraffes were uniquely decorated and auctioned with the proceeds going to local charities. Patchina was the result of a communal effort with members of the Kaiapoi community contributing to the original design, under the direction of local artist Christine Watton.

Before the auction, the Kaiapoi Community – schools, businesses and residents raised $6810 for Patchina. Graeme Rhind of John Rhind Funerals donated the balance so that she stayed in Kaiapoi.
