He Tangata

After the earthquakes of 2010/11 a group called the Kaiapoi Rubble Rousers commissioned a number of public art works. He Tangata was the result of collaboration between Jackie Watson andMark Larsen. It is made from steel plate that was machine rolled then laser cut.

The inspiration comes from the well known whakatauki expressing that the most important thing in the world is, the people, the people, the people. Although commissioned by the Rubble Rousers it was funded by Creative Communities with MarkLarsen giving his time
